Objective/Overview:
This assignment provides students the opportunity to utilize advanced features of a spreadsheet application and perform analysis to establish a business decision. This project uses different features such as functions, absolute addressing, and charts. The student is expected to create a single file that consists of the elements listed below to calculate and illustrate the grades for a fictitious Info 309 class. The information will then be analyzed and presented in a report.
1. Create a series of correlation matrices to examine HR practices and performance.

a. Turnover (full time and part time) and HR practices
b. Financials (earnings as a % of revenue, revenue per car) and HR practices
c. Safety (WC per 10,000 cars , OSHA per 10,000 cars , lot damage per car) and HR practices

Which HR practices are significantly correlated with (a) turnover, (b) financial results, and (c) safety? HINT: PLEASE DON’T PASTE THE CORRELATION TABLES INTO WORD (THEY ARE TOO BIG!). INSTEAD USE THE FOLLOWING TABLE AND NOTE WHICH PRACTICES ARE SIGNIFICANTLY RELATED AT p<.05 WITH THE OUTCOMES.

2. Conduct appropriate t-tests and/or ANOVA’s. Include test output with your answers. Use p < .05 for hypotheses tests.
a. Is auction type related to auction size (cars consigned) or financial results (ebitdal % of revenue and gross revenue per car consigned)?

HINT: YOU CAN RUN AN ANOVA OR TTEST FOR MULTIPLE DEPENDENT VARIABLES AT THE SAME TIME BY ENTERING THEM INTO ONE COMMAND. FOR EXAMPLE:

b. Is formal training related to auction performance (turnover, financials, and safety)?
c. Is the frequency of performance evaluations related to auction performance (turnover, financials, and safety)?

3. Create a bar chart that illustrates one of the significant relationships found in #2.

4. Create a contingency table and conduct a Chi Square test. Is auction legacy status related to auction type?

Please turn in a copy of your syntax file and a word document with your findings summarized. For each test paste the important output into the document and please INTERPRET EACH TEST IN A SENTENCE OR TWO with your conclusion.

Overview:
You are an analysts assigned to research the accusation that student grades do not reflect the school standards. To start out the research you have decided to take the grades from an Info 309 class and evaluate them and see if you can find any discrepancies.
Requirements:
To get a better understanding of the situation you will perform the following:

1) Utilize the information generated in the spreadsheet above
2) Generate a report to your supervisor indicating your findings. Include the following:
a) Introduction explaining why you have decided to perform this analysis
b) Methodology utilized
c) Findings of you analysis. Discuss, as a minimum, the grade distribution and what you would expect the results to look like. Feel free to discuss any other conclusions.
d) Recommendations. Describe what you think should be done to correct any issues.
